• 1. Connect the TL-ADPT-01 to the mini-DP/Thunderbolt input on your device (typically a laptop).
  2. Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI input on the TL-ADPT-01, and/or
  3. Connect a DisplayPort cable to the DisplayPort input on the TL-ADPT-01.
  4. Connect the HDMI cable to your destination device (typically a projector or monitor), and/or
  5. Connect the DisplayPort cable to your destination device.

  Not quite, but they do use the same type of connector and the TL-ADPT-01 converts video for both.

  No, it’s completely powered through the mini-DisplayPort connection.
  
  

  Can I secure the adapter to my cable to prevent loss?

  Yes, the TL-ADPT-01 can be permanently affixed to an HDMI cable using the DL-AP and DL-CL adapter clamps. In fact, multiple adapters can be affixed to a single DL-CL providing a very convenient solution for a variety of devices.
  
  

  Can I connect both an HDMI display and a DisplayPort display simultaneously?
